2nd Sonogram

On September 10th I went to my second sonogram. TJ couldn't go because he had to work. I wish he could have been there because he would have seen our little baby dancing around! "He" was just waving his arms and legs like he was having the best time in there. The nurse who did my sonogram said that the baby looked fine. She measured the back of the baby's neck to see if there was too much or too little fluid. This is also how they can detect downs syndrome. (Dr. Held said the baby looked fine but they're still going to send off my blood work.)
I went home the next day after my appointment because Houston was going to be hit by hurricane Ike. I flew home Thursday night and the hurricane hit Saturday September 13th. Our apartment didn't have any damage thank goodness! The rest of the Houston area looks pretty messed up. It could have been a lot worse. There are boats on people's lawns and trash everywhere. Billboards all along the highway are torn and knocked over. Its really sad. I'm glad TJ is ok and the rest of the family that stayed here for it.
When I was home I went to Molly's baby shower. Molly and I have been friends since 6th grade and we are still very close. Some of my other old friends (Stephanie and Jill) were there too. It was good to see them. Molly's baby is due October 12th. I can't wait to meet lil Layne McGuire!
My baby also received some of "his" first Golden Books from Colleen and Tim....thanks grandma and grandpa! (not sure what we're going to call them yet!!)
I go to the doctor again on October 8th. I'll be 16 weeks then...maybe we'll find out if its a boy or girl!!! I can't believe I'm almost done with the 1st trimester. On Monday I will be in my 4th month. It's already gone by really fast. I still feel great and I'm not as tired. I've been off of work all week because of the hurricane so hopefully I'll go back on Monday.
